Dressing
Dressing up is something that people do not bother about while working from home.
But that’s not how it should be. You must get ready for your work as you usually do.
Being a human nature of "laziness", People often wake up and start working on their task , which is OK and not OK ..
Productivity point of view, it is OK for short term, but in long term, it will affect the interest, work and health of working one , People must get ready as they get ready for office, this way.

Do not wear tight clothes , in office, you get plenty of space to walk , you go for short breaks but at home, you wont get that much space to walk, and working hours would be long at home, so have sometime which is professional and comfortable to human body.

Getting dressed includes all the appearance-based tasks — taking a shower, doing your hair, and minimal makeup. These factors make you look presentable.

Besides, working from home does not certainly mean that people cannot see you. You might be asked to show up for video meetings which are very common these days.

Choose a Proper Home office
  • Choose a corner of your room with good natural lighting, if possible
  • Set it up with a chair comfortable to sit on, for around 8 hours a day
  • Place a desk next to it
  • Put your system on the placed desk
  • Keep your required materials like a diary, pens, a bottle of water & a lamp right by the sidewill flow in from every way.

This will impact your performance, Most of us did not think that we have to do WFH so long and will have to cut out a corner from the house to make a look like office , Space must is good and comfortable.
It is so hard to be top performer in office and at home using the same place :)

DO NOT forget to buy a proper office chair.

Install Quality Technology

Working remotely can have its pros and cons.
As much as we love working at our own pace, a poor internet connection or an outdated system can get frustrating.

What happens when you are attending an important meeting over a facetime app and lose your internet connection? Or is your voice not clear enough for people to understand due to poor network issues?

You feel embarrassed and can miss out on a significant discussion, right?
In such a state, installing a competent wi-fi router will surely do the trick.

The rules are pretty simple.
  • Do thorough research on all plans provided by the internet providers
  • Look them up on various e-commerce sites
  • Study the requirements
  • Get recommendations from friends and fellow users
  • Go through with the purchase

Maintain consistent Working Hours
It’s the simplest rule, yet the toughest to follow.
  • Set your alarm for the time one hour prior to your office hour
  • Freshen up and do the needful before settling in your work space
  • Before going ahead with work, set the timer for the end of your work time
  • Perform your tasks with full dedication
  • Shut your laptop down, as soon as the timer kicks in
  • Move away from your workplace and call it a day

Wrap it up at the correct hour!

Eat & Sleep right
One of the most important thing, you need to be fit and have to maintain good fitness for body as well as mind too.
Few points here.
  • Set a Morning & Evening Routine
  • Wake up one hour prior to your working hour
  • Freshen up
  • Have some tea/coffee
  • Lay a mat on the floor
  • Sit on it and fold your legs
  • Keep your backbone straight
  • Close your eyes
  • Meditate for 5-10 minutes

Prepare a To-do list/Planner
You need to maintain a to do list , when you sign off for today, you should be knowing what is the task for tomorrow and should get prepare for it.

Exercise regularly
may also take short naps or do breathing exercises to be more mindful and efficient throughout the day.
Add a proper break-time schedule to your planner
Specify how much time duration is assigned to each break
When the clock strikes the specified time, stop with your work instantly

Make Ground Rules for Family Members
One of the biggest challenge for those who are married and having kids at home , Kids also not going outside due to COVID-19 and that makes the job more tough , but as someone said, each coin has 2 sides .. you get plenty of time to spend with your kids when you are working at home.

You need to make some ground rules for family members ..
  • Meetings are normally scheduled and having fix time, let family members knows about your schedule and ask them to make lesser noise during the meeting.
  • Online streaming can be restricted when you are having meeting, this will give enough bandwidth for sharing desktop/material with your team.
  • Make yourself 100% available in the scheduled meeting time

Leverage Social Media
  • Install the time-revealing & time-setting apps
  • Observe how much time you spend on each social media app
  • Decide on a specific amount of time you want to dedicate to each app, in a day
  • Develop some self-control and log into those apps only during breaks or post-work schedules

Interact with the Team
Since whole team is working remotely , it is important to have regular discussion with them , not necessary being technical all time but can discuss anything over the call , this will give a feel like you are working with them at office  (may not true for everyone)
Schedule weekly call with your team, just like get-together.

Schedule Breaks
Breaks are important to be more productive, one can not be on system for full 8-10 hours , schedule your breaks in every 30 min , take 5-min break.

Leave Home
If you have safe place to walk please go and take some time out of your house, go with your family member , if no place is available then make one available for you , this is very important to refresh your mind.

Look for Training and Learning Opportunities
Learning is never ending process , now being at home all the time, you should be having atleast an hours to spend on self education/learning , look for new opportunities to learn , being connected with world, you can get most of the materials online , one should be motivated enough.
There are many trainings conducted online , search for it and attend it, I believe it is one life time opportunity where you are saving time by not going in traffic. Get one hour daily for yourself .
