Resume Guideline if you are applying for job as a Freshers.

If you are a fresher and looking out for a job, then this blog going to be very useful for you.

 Few guidelines for job hunter.
1.
When you are approaching a person to referral , first go through his/her profile,  knowing a person is very important for any communication. I have seen people calling " Bro , Dude "  for a request to refer him in his/her organization. Respect corporate culture.

2.
After graduation, your resume is the one which is having all info about you and it is the first approach for the recruiter to decide for a call. Your resume should be good enough , see below the resume guidelines.

3.
Your resume is very precious, do not throw it blindly. Go through JD to understand what you are applying to.

4.
Do a research, see the Job description , think about it and then apply it.
People used to do opposite, they first apply the job, then think on it .. then go for Job description. If you know what a particular job needed, you can highlight that in your resume. One strong application is far better than 100 weak applications.

5.
Cover letter is very important , this should be the one where you can describe yourself in brief. Not many recruiters open your resume and see what you have for them .. Cover letter should not be lengthy and should be having point to point information, where ever you are applying , this should be included by default. It would be good if you put the referral person's name/ Recruiter's name instead of Sir/Madam.

6.
When sending a email, DO not just attach the resume and send it thinking it's recruiters job to open the mystery box to see the hidden treasure. There is nothing like that and your resume will miss an opportunity for you.  When sending an email , you can type few things so that your email should not be look like forwarded one. This is important.
An email should never sent without it's subject and contents.

7.
Your email's content should be proper and should be having point to point information. Put all the information which is required to submit your resume in system for a particular position.

8.
Think about the recruiter/interviewer , to get shortlisted, you should be having good /proper resume , a nice cover letter and proper communication (by email) , If you are not getting shortlisted again and again means there is some issue ...either with you or in the process you follow to apply for an opportunity.

Below are the resume guideline which I think everyone of us should follow. Put your comments if you like this page.

Resume Guideline:

1.
Save your resume with your name , exp  and your domain.
Your name/surname should start with capital letter , this is very important to follow. For example- your name is  test , exp - 2 yrs , domain is embedded , then your resume name should be Test_2yrs_Embedded.pdf .
Do not save your resume with my_resume.pdf, name_new.pdf , name_1.pdf ...  there is nothing in system called my_resume.
This is the first impression when a recruiter look for your resume. Always follow the Capital letter approach.

2.
Do not try to make your resume lengthy.
People think if the resume is lengthy , recruiter/interviewer may think .. wow.. what a candidate, he has done so much of work, instead he/she will loose interested in your resume and may call you off  and ask to go without asking much.

3.
Neat and Clean.
Keep your resume neat and clean, all information should be crisp and clear.

4.

Format.
There are many format available online , you can choose any one but should be good enough to transfer the information to recruiter and interviewer.
You can put your aim, education , education projects, extra activities , few lines about you and your disclaimer.
DO NOT PUT YOUR DOB in resume, you can mention the year .. but date is not required until or unless it is asked. This is your personal information. I have seen people put passport number also which is not correct. Your resume will be accessible to thousands of people and anyone can take advantage. Not recommended to put the personal and confidential information on resume.

5.
Texting
Do not make many letters as bold letters, when there are so many bold letters , they loose their shine and treated as regular letters.

Thanks.
