Worst Hiring Stories

I post positive stories from my experience but let me for a change post something really NEGATIVE. I made an offer to someone. He accepted. His notice period is 3 months. At the end of 3 months his recruiter calls, very apologetic. He says the candidate took the counter offer. People who do that screw everyone up. Their recruiter, recruiter's reputation, not to mention well deserved commission. The hiring manager and the team. Worse, they screw up other candidates who may be no less qualified but in an urgent need of a job. Even worse, they screw up themselves- counter offers never really work. All the reasons why they went looking for the job are still there: lack of appreciation, micromanagement, mistreatment, lack of growth, etc. None of us really work just for the money. Be kind to others. Be kind to yourself. Agree ?
